The Government has delegated the powers of grant of permissionfor starting of (i) New Private unaided Degree Colleges / Courses andPost Graduate Courses to A.P. State Council of Higher Educationthrough G.O.Ms.No.278 Edn., Dt:24.07.1995 (ii) administrative sanctionfor the establishment of Law Colleges in the state of Andhra Pradeshthrough G.O.Ms.No.224 Edn. Dept., Dt:16.7.1999 and (iii) accordingsanction of New Private Un-aided Oriental Colleges in the state ofAndhra Pradesh through G.O.Ms.No.6 Higher Education (CE.II) Dept., Dt:3.2.2004 subject to the conditions prescribed by the Government fromtime to time. In accordance with the Government orders APSCHE has been issuing notification and inviting applications from private agencies desirous of starting newprivate Un-aided colleges and Unaided UG and Unaided PG coursesthrough press notification each year during December / January.


The Chairman, APSCHE is the competent authority to identify the University to which the CET is to be entrusted. The Vice-Chancellor of concerned University will be the Chairman of the concerned CET. The Chairman of the CET will nominate the Convener who should be of the Rank of Professor to conduct the CET. Further, all the Universities will also be furnished their nominees not below the rank of Professor to serve as a representative on the CET Committee. The Committee would take decisions for proper conduct of the CET and suggest measures to be taken for proper conduct of the CET. The Council has been conducting CETs i.e., (i) EAMCET for admission into B.Tech., B.Pharmacy, MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS (ii) ECET(FDH) - for admission into Diploma Holders into B.Tech. (iii) ICET -for admission into MCA and MBA (iv) Ed.CET - for admission into B.Ed (v) LAWCET for admission into 3-year & 5-year Law (vi) PGLCET foradmission into LLM (vii) PECET - for admission into B.P.Ed. and UG B.P.Ed (viii) PGECET - for admission into M.Tech./M.Pham.
